What Emergency Plumbing Actually Means Here
A lot of plumbing companies advertise 24/7 emergency service. Some actually have a crew on call all night. Most have an answering service that takes the call, dispatches whoever’s available, and charges premium after-hours rates that get added to the bill. We don’t run that model. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, and during those hours we treat plumbing emergencies as priority calls and move them up the schedule when we can.
That honesty matters because plumbing emergencies don’t get solved by promises. They get solved by getting the water shut off, getting the right plumber on site, and fixing the actual problem. Steps to Take While Waiting for the Plumber
- Burst pipe or active flooding
Shut off the main water valve. It’s typically near where the water supply enters the house, near the water heater, or at the meter at the street. Turning this off stops further damage. Once the water is off, move belongings away from the wet area, turn off electricity to any affected outlets, and call us during business hours. Outside business hours, document with photos for insurance, then call first thing in the morning.
- Sewer backing up into the house
Stop using all water immediately. Don’t flush toilets, don’t run sinks, don’t run the dishwasher or washing machine. The sewage is taking the lowest path back into the house, and adding more wastewater to the system makes it worse. Keep the area as clean as possible while you wait. Call us during business hours, or first thing the next morning if it’s after-hours. This is one of our highest priority same-day calls.
- No hot water in cold weather
Check the water heater first: a tripped breaker (electric units), a pilot light that’s gone out (gas units), or a fully iced supply line in extreme cold can each cause sudden no-hot-water situations. If the water heater is leaking from the bottom, shut off the cold supply to the unit and call us. If it’s just not heating, we’ll diagnose on the service call. We treat winter no-hot-water as a priority during business hours.
- Slab leak (warm spot on the floor or sudden high water bill)
A slab leak isn’t usually flooding-fast, but it’s still urgent because it damages the foundation and floor structure over time. If you suspect a slab leak (warm spot on tile, hissing sound, sudden water bill spike, low hot water pressure), turn off the hot water at the water heater to stop the leak from running until we can get out for diagnosis and repair.
- Overflowing toilet or fixture
Shut the water off at the fixture itself. For toilets, the shutoff valve is on the wall behind the bowl. Turn it clockwise until it stops. For sinks, shutoff valves are typically under the basin. If the shutoff valve is corroded and won’t turn, shut off the main valve to the house. Once water is stopped, the immediate emergency is over and the repair can be scheduled normally.

Burst Pipe and Water Line Emergencies
Pipes that have burst inside walls, in the attic, in the crawl space, or under the slab. The main water line breaks between the meter and the house. Frozen pipes that have ruptured during East Texas freezes. We arrive, isolate the failure, repair the affected section, pressure-test, and verify the system holds. Most burst-pipe repairs are completed the same visit when scheduling allows.
Sewer Backup Response
Sewage coming up through tubs, showers, floor drains, or the lowest fixtures in the house. We respond same-day during business hours, run a cable or jetter through the main line, identify whether the issue is a clog or sewer line damage, and quote the next step accordingly. Camera inspection follows when the cleanout reveals damage rather than a simple clog.
Water Heater Emergencies
Tank water heaters leaking from the bottom (the tank itself has corroded through and the unit needs replacement). Tankless units throwing critical error codes. Gas water heaters with pilot or igniter failures. No hot water for the household with no obvious cause. We diagnose and repair or replace, with most water heater issues resolved in a single visit when parts or replacement units are available.
Slab Leak and Hidden Water Damage
Active leaks under a slab, behind a wall, or in a ceiling that need detection and repair before more damage spreads. Acoustic and infrared equipment locate the leak precisely so the repair opens the minimum amount of drywall or concrete. No. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. During business hours, we provide same-day emergency response when scheduling allows. Outside business hours, we recommend you shut off your main water valve, contain damage, document for insurance, and call us first thing the next morning. We’d rather be honest about availability than make a promise we can’t keep.
What should I do if I have a plumbing emergency right now and it's after hours?

Do you charge a premium for emergency calls?
No. Emergency calls during business hours are priced the same as a regular service call. We don’t operate outside business hours, so there’s no after-hours premium for us to charge. The price you’d pay for the same repair on a non-emergency call is the price you pay for the emergency.
How fast can you respond during business hours?
Response time depends on the day’s schedule and your location relative to our Nacogdoches base. Inner-ring cities (Nacogdoches, Lufkin, Appleby, Martinsville, Cushing, Chireno) usually within a few hours when scheduling allows. Outer-ring cities (Center, Henderson, Etoile, Mount Enterprise) typically have the same-day or first thing the next business day. We’ll give you a realistic window when you call, not a guess.
What counts as an emergency vs a regular service call?
Emergencies involve active water flowing somewhere it shouldn’t (burst pipe, slab leak, sewer backup), sudden total loss of essential function (no hot water in winter, water heater failure), or damage that gets worse quickly the longer it’s left. A slow drip, a running toilet, or a slow drain isn’t an emergency, even though it still needs repair. We move emergencies up the schedule when we can.
