The Calls That Don't Make the Project List, but Still Need to Be Done Right
Most plumbing calls aren’t whole-house repipes or sewer line replacements. Most are a leaking faucet, a running toilet, a disposal that quit, or a hose bib that froze last January and won’t shut off. Small-ticket on the quote, but they add up fast in wasted water, and they get worse the longer they’re left. According to the EPA, a household leak as small as a faulty flapper or dripping faucet can waste more than 10,000 gallons of water per year, and a leaky toilet alone can lose up to 200 gallons a day before the homeowner even notices.
We come out, look at the actual fixture, diagnose the cause, and fix it the same visit when possible. Most everyday repairs are completed in 30 to 90 minutes with the parts already on the truck. What We Fix Most Often
- Toilet repair, replacement, and installation
Running toilets are usually a worn flapper, a failed fill valve, or a flush handle that won’t seat. Toilets leaking at the base usually mean a wax ring needs replacement. Slow flushes can be a clogged jet rim or a partial blockage. Each is diagnosable on a service call. We also handle toilet replacement when the old unit has cracked, leaks at the tank-to-bowl connection, or no longer flushes reliably.
- Faucet repair and installation
Drippy faucets, leaks under the sink, low pressure at one fixture, handles that won’t shut off all the way. Most kitchen and bathroom faucet issues come down to a worn cartridge, a bad O-ring, or a corroded supply connection. We carry common Delta cartridges and Kohler fixture parts on the truck. New installs follow the same model: pull the old, set the new, connect supply lines, leak-test, walk through operation.
- Shower and tub repair
Shower valves that leak behind the wall, showerheads that drip after the water is off, mixing valves that won’t get hot or won’t get cold, and tub faucets that won’t stop dripping. Shower valve cartridges and trim kits are the most common parts we replace. When the valve body itself has failed, replacement is more involved but still usually a same-visit repair.
- Garbage disposal repair and replacement
A disposal that hums but won’t turn is usually jammed, and most jams clear with the manual reset and an Allen wrench in the bottom of the unit. A disposal making no sound at all is usually a tripped breaker, a failed motor, or a bad switch. A leaking disposal almost always means the seals have failed and the unit needs replacement. We install Insinkerator as our preferred brand for residential disposals.
- Outdoor spigot, hose bib, and supply line repair
Outdoor hose bibs that won’t shut off, that leak from the handle, or that froze and split last winter. Frost-free hose bibs that have failed internally won’t shut off because the seat is buried inside the wall. We replace hose bibs and add frost-free models in homes that don’t have them. Supply line repair on aging shutoff valves under sinks and behind toilets covers another big segment of everyday-repair work.

Delta and Kohler dominate the residential faucet and shower fixture market in East Texas, and Insinkerator is the standard for disposals. We stock common parts and cartridges for these brands so the typical repair doesn’t require ordering. For less common brands or older fixtures, we identify the part on site and order what’s needed, with a clear timeline back to the homeowner.
Replacement When Repair Doesn't Make Sense
Sometimes the right answer is a new fixture rather than a repair. A toilet leaking at the base for a while may have damaged the flange and floor underneath. A 25-year-old faucet with multiple worn parts often costs more to repair piece-by-piece than to replace. A disposal with failed seals is a replacement, not a repair. We tell you when replacement is the better choice and quote both options when there’s a real decision to make.

Cost depends on the type of repair, the parts needed, and whether multiple fixtures are being addressed in the same visit. We provide a written quote before any work begins, with no surprise charges added at the end.
Can you fix a running toilet, or do I need a new one?
Total install cost depends on the unit (brand, model, BTU rating), whether the existing gas line needs upsizing, whether venting needs to be replaced, and the complexity of the location. We provide a written quote before any work begins. The $225 maintenance is flat-rate regardless of brand.
How long does a tankless water heater last?
Typically 20 years or more with annual maintenance, compared to 10 to 15 years for a traditional tank. Skipping the annual descaling cuts that lifespan significantly in East Texas water conditions. The heat exchanger is the most expensive component, so protecting it through routine maintenance is what makes the long lifespan actually achievable.
Can you handle multiple repairs in one visit?
Yes, and it’s often the most efficient option. Three or four small fixture repairs on the same visit usually costs less than three or four separate service calls. Property managers, landlords, and homeowners catching up on a list of small issues take advantage of this regularly.
Should I try to fix it myself first?
Some repairs are reasonable DIY projects (changing a showerhead, swapping a sink stopper). Others go wrong fast when the shutoff valves are old or the supply connections are corroded.
